Knowledge of the patterns of product solubility prevents formulation failures. The chemical is poorly soluble in water (0.7 g/L), hence it cannot be directly dispersed in water without co-solvents. Full dissolution in ethanol, propylene glycol, triacetin and MCT oil. These are the preferable carriers for vape liquids and gel formulations. Our cyclodextrin encapsulated version for water-based systems stays clear during three high-low temperature cycles with no precipitation.

The thermal stability is more than 200. It can still play a role in cooling while boiling sugar and baking, which will volatilise menthol. The chemical is stable over a pH range of 4.08.5, which covers the pH range of most beverages and cosmetics. Avoid long term exposure of strong alkalis (>80 degree C) since it slow amide hydrolysis. Its packaged in light-protected aluminium foil to prevent discolouration from UV exposure during the 24-month shelf life. No chemical interactions were observed, however synergistic effects with WS-3 or natural menthol increased the total cooling intensity.

Manufacturing Process

Our process starts with pretreatment of the beginning material. The crude nitrile feedstock is subjected to low pressure distillation to remove low boiling impurities. Simultaneous dehydration of methylamine and methanol solvents is performed to minimise hydrolysis side reactions.

The autoclave alcohololysis process involves the reaction of nitrile, anhydrous methanol and sulphuric acid catalyst in sealed reactors. TLC follows conversion rates till completion, including neutralisation and recovery of surplus methanol resulting in crude methyl butyrate intermediate.

In the amide exchange reaction, the ester is reacted with monomethylamine under controlled pressure, giving crude greasy WS-23. The excess amine is recycled and small molecule solvents are eliminated to avoid contamination for later purification.

Crude product is stripped of free amines and unreacted esters by countercurrent acid-alkali-brine washes. Residual moisture is removed with anhydrous desiccants prior to negative-pressure solvent stripping.

The final purity grades are determined at the gradient recrystallisation stage. Two-stage recrystallisation with activated carbon deodorisation attains our 99% criteria. Vacuum distilled 99.5% grade is for elimination of trace isomers. Recycling mother liquors increases yield and decreases waste.

Centrifugal washing with cold solvent to remove the surface contaminants Then low temperature vacuum drying (55) to avoid agglomeration . For water-dispersible products, a cyclodextrin inclusion branch first dissolves WS-23 in propylene glycol, and then homogenises with β-cyclodextrin solution before spray drying.

The last steps are crushing and sieving to 80-200 mesh according to customer specifications, three-dimensional batch homogenisation to reduce variances in melting point and light-proof sealed packaging in vacuum aluminium foil bags. Full GC impurity profiling and issuance of COA is performed for each batch prior to warehousing.
